The Dictionary defines the word “Top” as “the highest point, level, or part of something”. It defines the word “Soldier” as “an enlisted man or woman, a warrior” and “a militant leader”. Therefore, the definition of Top Soldier should be a combination of these two definitions. The definitions of these two words can be fleshed out to paint a picture of the ideal Top Soldier in regards to physical superiority, mental toughness, ability to think and act intelligently under pressure with a calm and calculating demeanor.
PT Tests are a regular part of a soldier’s life and soldiers are required to take a physical fitness test at least twice per year. To pass, he or she must score a defined minimum score on each of the current events laid out for each of the Specific Military Branches. This benchmark should not be the ultimate goal of the Top Soldier. The Top Soldier believes the minimum score as a beginning benchmark, a stepping stone to a higher level. Top Soldiers do not stop once they reach this level, but attempt to exceed it.
Pushups, pull-ups, sit-ups, and running are only part of military fitness. A Top Soldier sees these events as a starting point in their physical fitness and readiness routine. He or she should constantly be seeking new methods of exercise, new routines, and creating innovative solutions to achieve the best they can be in both exercise and a healthy diet. They should not be afraid to do research or seek out the advice of others regarding the subject of exercise or diet.
The Top Soldier should never be a follower, but a leader. To better others is to better the individual, and this must be taken to heart. Top Soldiers are never just part of the group; they strive to lead the group by performing well past the standard of excellence. Just as importantly the Top Soldier strives to motivate the group as a whole to do the same. They do not brag about being fit. In their quest to attain a higher state of physical fitness and readiness, they help others to achieve a higher level as well. At the same time, they shouldn’t concern themselves with how fit and ready others are, but should focus on bettering themselves. Their primary fitness and readiness goal should be to be more fit and prepared this week than they were last week.
Full Force Trains Top Soldiers to be physically superior to the average soldier, mentally tougher, think and act intelligently under pressure with a calm and calculating demeanor. Top Soldiers train to possess bull-like strength and develop Warrior Explosiveness.
THE REALITY IS, THE STRONGER YOU ARE, THE LESS ENERGY IS REQUIRED TO MOVE THINGS…INCLUDING YOURSELF!
So in summary, the Top Soldier is concerned with getting themselves to the peak of physical fitness and readiness and then maintaining it. In doing so, they also strive to help others accomplish their own fitness and readiness goals as well. They are innovative, proactive, and open minded on the topics of exercise, fitness, readiness and nutrition. Top Soldiers embody the Military Values with their work ethic, and their dedication to make themselves better every day, so that they can be more productive soldiers within their respective units.
